Q2 2022 - PREMIUM Club Shipment

Thanks for being a member of the PREMIUM Wine Club!

The wines in this shipment have been hand-selected by our Tasting Panel.

They have been crafted to be decanted and enjoyed now, or be cellared for future enjoyment.

We do recommend waiting a few weeks to allow the wine to recover from any 'bottle shock' in transit.

Then feel free to enjoy one bottle, and cellar the other for a later date.

While the producers do not allow us to advertise discounted prices on these wines, if you wish to reorder, please use coupon code "GooglePremium" to receive 10% off your purchase.

Have fun!

David Arthur Vineyards – 2018 Proprietary Red  (Reorder)

After nearly forty years of farming grapes on their Pritchard Hill Estate, David Arthur Vineyards announced the launch of their Next Generation wines ~ DAV.

They have created a new, modern wine that represents the bold personality found in each and every bottle of their estate wines. This Bordeaux-style blend allows them to weave together the rich, concentrated elegance and power of our mountain-grown Bordeaux varietals and the best of surrounding vineyards within the Napa Valley wine is aged an average of 20 months in French oak barrels, blended with meticulous care and bottled at their vineyard estate.

The result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver plush, mouth-filling structure with soft, elegant tannins. We hope you enjoy, as do we, the accessibility and near-term enjoyment this wine offers in its youth and the greater nuance and complexity afforded with cellaring.

Lamborn Family Vineyards 2019 2200' Howell Mountain Red
Wine -    (Reorder)

Lamborn was founded by Brian Lamborn's grandfather, who was an agent with both the FBI and CIA, in 1969 when there were only 25 wineries in all of Napa Valley.

Now into their fourth generation, their wines are 100% estate and organically grown, all farmed by Lamborns. With the exception of winemaking, which is done by Heidi Barrett, Lamborns operate every facet of our business.  Heidi has made some of California's most notable cult wines, including Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Paradigm Winery, Amuse Bouche, Vineyard 29, Fantesca and others.

Named after their elevation at 2,200’ on Howell Mountain, their vineyard lies well above the 1,400’ level where the appellation begins and is just shy of the summit. At 2,200’ they are one of the highest vineyards in Napa Valley.

There aren’t many Cab/Zin blends on the market. Why? Because today’s standard Zinfandel style is that of opulence, alcohol, and jamminess, three characteristics that do not lend themselves to a balanced blend.

Lamborn's Zinfandel style has been described by Robert Parker as “elegant and refined” and “a Cab lovers Zin.” Because Heidi creates such balance and their Zin shares many Cabernet characteristics, it blends seamlessly with our Howell Mountain Cabernet. Heidi is known for crafting balanced wines and this is a perfect example.

No public tasting room.  Produce approximately 1,800 cases of wine among Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Rose.

Production: 571 cases

Appellation:  100% Howell Mountain

Varietal Composition: Cabernet Sauvignon: 60%, Zinfandel: 40%

Harvest Dates: Sept. 30th (Zin) and Oct. 18th (Cab), year 2019

Barrel Aging: Cabernet is aged for 22 months in 34% New French Oak, Zinfandel is aged for 22 months in 22% American Oak

Tasting Notes: Like a fragrant country summer evening, the nose offers attractive cherry, raspberry, and blueberry notes with an underlying hint of orange zest. Accentuated with an oak regimen from both French and American cooperage, the rich fruit aromas are complemented with subtle river rock and dust nuances. Similar to the nose, rich and silky layers of vine-ripened
berries and tart cherry give way to dark chocolate and a luscious mouthfeel with moderate tannins. Now that these Cabernet vines are fully mature they are producing some very dense and concentrated fruit, so evident in this scintillating wine.

Aging Potential:

Schweiger Vineyards -2015 Dedication (Reorder)

Schweiger is a multi-generation winery with a father/son grower/winemaker team who have been working together for over 20 years, truly hands on, family owned and operated winery.

Fred Schweiger cleared the land himself, Andy his son helped plant the vineyard while he was growing up. Their first harvest making wine under their own name was in 1994. Andy has been the only winemaker in their entire history.

How many wineries can boast this: 29 vintages with the same vineyard source, same grape grower, same winemaker/cellar crew.

When Andy started making wine for his dad in 1994, he made it very clear: none of that monkey business blending he did at other wineries, just 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 100% Merlot. While this is a good expression of their mountain terroir, Andy missed the fun challenge of blending. In 2000, he traded some of his Cabernet Sauvignon fruit for Cabernet Franc from Spring Mountain Vineyards and Malbec from Paoletti Vineyards. From that vintage, He created their first vintage of Dedication. Andy made it in secret and did not tell the rest of the family about it until the night before bottling. He called it Dedication as he had dedicated this first vintage to the four most influential men in his life: his father, his two grandfathers, and his son, Jerry who was born in the year 2000.

Schweiger Vineyards produces ~5,000 cases a year; the following are 100% Estate bottled: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Rose of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Dedication. They also produce two 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wines as single vineyard. Lastly, a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc, where fruit is purchased from a long time family friend in Sonoma County.

The Schweiger tasting room in St. Helena, CA is open 7 days a week by appointment only. It is located 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley at the peak of the Mayacamas Range.

Production: 565 cases

AppellationSpring Mountain District, Napa Valley

Varietal Composition: 63% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Petite Verdot (43% Estate -Pritchard Hill)

Bottled: May 2018

Barrel Aging: 32 months in 100% New French Oak

Tasting Notes: Dedication is a testament to Andy's winemaking skill and passion.  Each year, this blend evolves to represent the best fruit from their various blocks, creating a true “cream of the crop” wine. They saw 45% less fruit in 2015, making this wine even more limited production than usual. On the nose, the 2015 Dedication is earthy like damp woods in the morning, with waves of strawberry licorice, chocolate raspberries, and cedar.
