Mathew Bruno Wines (Reorder)

  • Our tasting room will open to the public this Fall. The new Mathew Bruno Tasting Room sits on Rutherford Road next to neighbors Elizabeth Spencer Winery, Beaulieu Vineyards and the acclaimed Rutherford Grill.
  • Small, family-owned winery in Napa Valley that produces ~1,500 cases per year, across Cabernet Sauvignon (Rutherford and Atlas Peak), Chardonnay (Carneros), Rose (Dry Creek Valley).
  • Most of the production is Cabernet Sauvignon, and then smaller parts of an estate Chardonnay, and a single vineyard Pinot Noir sourced from the Elke Home Ranch in the Anderson Valley. All the wines thus are single vineyard, single varietal, no blends, and show a strong sense of place.

2018 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

  • 322 cases produced
  • 100% Sauvignon Blanc
  • Stainless steel fermentation

Tasting Notes:
Our Sauvignon Blanc is handpicked from the Hoxsey Family’s Block House Vineyard in the heart of Yountville. Thought to be one of the oldest vineyards in the Napa Valley, the vineyard was named for pioneer George Yount’s block house – the first Kentucky style block house west of the Mississippi. Fermented in 100% stainless steel our 2018 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a clean wine, complex with bright aromas of grapefruit and melon. The taste is a bouquet of lemon and orange peel with a crisp tropical finish.

 Rafael et Fils 

Rafael Et Fils (Reorder)

  • Small, family-owned winery in Napa Valley that produces ~1,500 cases per year.
  • Most of the production is Cabernet Sauvignon, but also produce an estate Chardonnay, and this single vineyard Pinot Noir sourced from the Elke Home Ranch in the Anderson Valley.
  • There is no tasting room. Tastings by appointment only.  Please contact the winery for details.

2018 “Lauren’s Cuvee” Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

  • 175 cases produced
  • 100% Pinot Noir from Estines Vineyard in Russian River Valley in Sonoma County
  • 11 Months on oak, 25% new, the rest neutral.

Tasting Notes:                                                                                                        The wine is a beautiful red color. It initially exhibits vibrant aromas of rose petal, violets, fresh strawberry, and pie crust. With time, the wine evolves to reveal a distinct earthiness and subtle flavors of wild mushrooms, cedar, rhubarb, and black tea. This aromatic wine is characterized by floral elements, and exudes a bright elegant structure with a medium weight mouthfeel, lifting acidity and velvety softness. Fabulous flavors of cherry and tart raspberry seem to linger forever in the finish.

Vie Wines

Vie Winery (Reorder)

  • VIE Winery is located on Treasure Island where all wine is made. The tasting room is open to the public.
  • VIE Winery is San Francisco’s oldest urban winery, founded in 2004.
  • They produce 1,200 cases per year of primarily Rhone varietals.

2014 L'Intruse Mourvèdre

  • Produced 150 cases
  • 87% Mourvèdre, 12% Syrah, 1% Grenache
  • Aged 18 months in neutral French Oak Barrels
  • Named “Top Mourvèdre in America” receiving Best of Class at the American Fine Wine Competition

VIE is San Francisco’s oldest urban winery, founded in 2004. Originally located in an old mayonnaise factory in the lower Potrero Hill area of San Francisco, VIE Winery along with two others were responsible for founding the first working winery in San Francisco, fueling the current urban winery movement in the city.

Tasting Notes:
In 2014, we received the best Mourvèdre fruit by far to date from the Thompson vineyard. The looser clusters and smaller berries contributed to more concentrated, complex fruit flavors. On the nose, blackberry fruit dominates with hints of truffles, tobacco, and underlying herbal notes. Black raspberry, currant, and charcoal unfold in layers of fruit and Asian spice on the palate with subtle tannins and firm acid, which creates movement on the palate. The tannins carry this medium bodied, yet focused and aggressive wine into a finish with notes of red raspberry fruit, black pepper spice, and hints of toasted oak. This wine is meant to be paired with food and should be enjoyed within the next 6 to 8 years.

 Mastro Scheidt

Mastro Scheidt (Reorder)

  • The winery is located in Cloverdale. Tasting room by appointment only. 
  • Produce roughly 1000 cases per year, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Zinfandel and occasional other distinctive single-varietal wines, Barbera, Dolcetto, Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chenin Blanc, Semillion, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat

2018 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

  • 100 cases (4 barrels) produced
  • 100% Zinfandel
  • Aged 18 months in 25% new French and American oak.

Tasting Notes:
The Zinfandel is flush through the entirety of the palate, but not coarse or unrefined but rather elegant both on the mid palate and the finish. The finish carries through the back palate with texture and without the typical thinness of Zinfandel. 100% hand picked. Extraction is through pump-over only, as the skin to juice ratio is such that too much agitation and skin maceration would create too much tannin in the wine, thus disguising its fruit and plushness. It is not a 'hot' Zin or jam filled sugar bomb but a fruit driven wine that has a tremendous amount of black fruit characteristic.  Spice is always in the terroir of Dry Creek Zinfandel and this wine tends to lend itself towards more exotic flavors of cardamom, fennel, and all-spice due to the ripening.

 Ehret Family Winery

 Ehret Family Winery (Reorder)

  • Our wines are produced at Healdsburg Custom Crush. We conduct Wine Safari tours of our ranch in Knights Valley with an ATV and explore the expansive property that is 2000 acres (500 acres are planted to grapes). All Wine Safari tours are by appointment and are $100 per person and is refunded for two people per club sign up.
  • Produces about 1,300 cases annually, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc.

2014 Knights Valley 'Knights Raven' Cabernet Franc

  • 400 cases produced
  • 100% Cabernet Franc
  • 18 months in 20% new French oak barrels

Tasting Notes:
2014 was another drought year, though the effects on Knights Valley were mostly beneficial. It was another early year throughout – early bud break, fruit set, veraison, and harvest - with a warm spring and hot summer. The evenings cooled off greatly, allowing for the grapes to ripen steadily. The early harvest produced a big crop of dense, charming, cellar-worthy wines including our 2014 Knights Raven Cabernet Franc Knights Valley. It is 100% Cabernet Franc, showcasing the grape and Knights Valley in the purest form. The wine is silky with a medium body, and has impressions of nutmeg, cranberry, dark cherry, fresh herbs, and gunpowder green tea.

Italics Winegrowers 

Italics Winegrowers (Reorder)

  • Located at 70 Rapp Lane, Napa, CA. They offer tastings by appointment.
  • Italics’ production ranges from 300 cases to 1,800 cases per year.
  • Several estate wines are produced under the Italics brand including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and a few selections of Bordeaux Blends.

Our vineyard is located below Duncan Peak at 1,400 feet of elevation. The terroir here is unique when comparing it to valley floor vineyards near us. Our vines grow under very tough conditions on rocky soils (weathered shale and sandstone). The low organic content and excessive drainage lead to low vigor and low yields. However, is this ideal for premium winemaking as berries are small and concentrated. We also have great diversity in our soils and exposures from block to block, leading to uniquely complex flavors within our own vineyard. Moreover our high density planting forces us to do all vineyard tasks by hand - no tractors or machinery. This allows us to learn the vineyard extremely well and farm it for quality. Winemaking is minimalistic in order to allow the vineyard to shine through. Although not certified organic, we follow many organic farming practices.

Appellations 2017 Terroir Red Blend

  • 260 cases produced
  • 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc
  • It aged 50% in proprietary French oak panel tanks, 50% in stainless steel

Tasting Notes:
A perfumed nose of plum, currant, violets, vanilla, forest floor, and quince. Fresh raspberry attack leads into a juicy mouth of strawberries, red currant, blueberry and fresh tobacco.  Fine grain tannins melt into a refreshing finish of pomegranate.
