Enjoying wine was an everyday part of life for the Martin Family, but winegrowing wasn’t a serious consideration. The Martin Family and friends always enjoyed trips to the Wine Country as they searched for small, unique and unknown wineries. The collection of wine began to grow.
Fast forward through business changes and opportunities, and the family’s step into the wine business came by acquiring Napa’s prestigious Appellations series of wines. The Martins established the Italics Winegrowers Estate in 2014, set roots in Coombsville, and supporters began making the pilgrimage to Italics when the cave doors opened in August of 2016.
Today, the winery’s vision and mission is simple: to highlight the diversity of the vineyard with varietals true to character; highlighting a single row, a block or section. Napa Valley is fortunate to exist within one of the best winegrowing climates in the world. Our 2016 Proprietary Red is the wine we created to draw your attention to the majesty of Coombsville. To italicize it. Enjoy!

A layered nose of fresh raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cocoa, chocolate, and coffee bean. Dark chocolate shoulder tannins melt into a lingering silky aftertaste of blackberry.
