2019 Modus Operandi Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc
100% Sauvignon Blanc | 150 cases produced
Modus Operandi Owner/Winemaker Jason Moore was recently voted the second best winemaker in Napa. Not bad considering he was on the heels of Heidi Barrett, who's been making wine in Napa Valley since the early 80's, and has been responsible for some of California's nost notable cult wines. That's pretty good company for Jason to be keeping!
With fruit from the Dalla Gasperina Vineyard in Rutherford, Jason made only 6 barrels of this delicious Sauvignon Blanc.
How good is it? Well, The second best winemaker in Napa certainly knows how to make a Sauvignon Blanc. In 2009, The Modus Operandi Sauvignon Blanc was poured at a historic White House State Dinner!
This wine is typically only available via allocation and to Modus Operandi club members, but Jason's become a good friend, and we were able to source (we begged, really) a few cases for our members.

2018 Benevolent Neglect Rose
60% Mourvedre and 40% Carignan | 300 cases produced
Benevolent Neglect's philosophy is that the idea of the winemaker is to be the reliable translator - to take what was made in the vineyard from sun, water, and soil and let it become the finest wine that it can be.
They use very little new oak, no oak substitutes, and no industrial additives. If they get the farming right and the weather co-operates they won't do any additions of water or acidity to alter the natural balance of the wine.
They will occasionally ferment with whole clusters if it helps to bring out the best qualities of the vineyard, and try their hardest never to over-extract tannins from the skins and seeds.
They believe in transparent winemaking, doing things the natural way, and being open to experimentation. Most importantly, they want to keep having fun with what they do in the cellar.
Sourced from the Tanner Vineyards in the Sierra Foothills this Rosé can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere. Packed with tangy strawberry and raspberry flavors this wine is great on its own or can be effortlessly paired with a stone fruit salad with arugula, raw oysters with mignonette or Fresh Goat Cheese.
The fruit for this wine early at 19.5 brix and send it directly to press to maintain freshness and maximize aromatics. It is bottled at11.6% ABV after a cool slow fermentation in stainless steel.
