2011 Central Coast Fletcher’s Red
Tasting Notes:
The blend for Fletcher’s Red changes every year, and the 2011 introduces Malbec into the varietal mix for the first time. Crafted in a modern, opulent style, this wine is nuanced and character driven, highlighted by the bright acid of the early-ripening Malbec, and the complex minerality of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich and round, the 2011 Fletcher’s will impress now, but will drink at it’s peak from 2016-2021.
A tasty blend, showing cracked peppercorns, obsidian-like rocks, layers of blackberry and a slight hint of green pepper. Pasilla chile opens the palate, which unfolds with boysenberry and blackberry, staying evenly balanced the entire sip.
