Westerly – 2012 Fletcher’s Red
- 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Sangiovese, 23% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec
- 18 months in French oak
The 2012 Fletcher’s Red is a full-bodied, gracefully styled wine. The color is a dark and brilliant ruby, with aromas of blackberry pie and toasted oak. Seamless and quite rich on the palette, this wine offers a myriad of flavors manifested over a wonderfully persistent finish. This wine should drink well for 10-15+ years.
95 POINTS - WINE ENTHUSIAST: "Pressed blueberry, black cherry and sour plum aromas mesh with dried oregano, bay leaf, black pepper and pencil shavings on the nose. There’s lots of depth to the palate, with dark olallieberry, eucalyptus oil and pine needle flavors leading into a hazelnut, caramel, coffee and vanilla finish." —M.K., Wine Enthusiast (2/1/2017)
